⚡️A Rebsville Learning Tool Alphabet Phonics Poster! “The Alphabet Came to Tea” 🍎 Scroll through for all the details from my voice over taking you through it. 🍌 I’m so excited to have been approached by a lovely family cafe/shop in London to be my first stockist! 🎂 whooohooo! I’ll let you know more details later. I’m going to offer my products to small shops and businesses to sell in 2019..so I’d love to know if you have any good local gift shops or cafes or anywhere you can see a Rebsville print ⚡️🔎⚡️ Let me know if the comments 👇🏻 where do you buy from?
🔍I’m in search of a method to help me to press pause in my daily life. I seem to be processing things constantly which is a brilliant thing in many ways...but it has recently been pointed out to me that I may benefit from ‘just being’ from time to time🌙Historically, I’ve always kept my mind busy (distracted) as a coping mechanism to avoid unwelcome thoughts⚡️but I up for trying this now as I don’t feel it’s helpful anymore 💫I’ve tried headspace, yoga, meditation but they don’t seem to fit me (chicken/egg scenario?) 🌞 What is interesting to me is the idea of listening to your own intuition... I got stuck into a few podcasts today from @sticksandink and got me thinking about shifting things around a bit 🌝 you need to be quiet and still to hear your intuition so that’s going to be a good place to start for me 🌈all ideas and tips, recommendations, books, thoughts are welcome please .. put them in my comments 👇🏻
🌿 the Power of #Veganuary 🌿 I went to big sainos yesterday on my after my delicious meat free Buddha bowl (unplanned) @coffeeparlour (yum!)to find aisles and aisles of vegan food and a new ‘love your veg’ range! It was a takeover! I’m not a vegan but I’m trying to eat a lot less meat for a range of reasons so all the ideas are very welcome. My friend Anna has been concoting some amaaaazing looking recipes for vegan meals on her blog @accidentallyhealthylife (Veganuary may become a permanent fixture in her life?) 🍃 this huge Basil leaf was painted in Mondello Beach last May half term and from it, my Eat Herbs print and tea towel grew >> perfect for the food loving, flavour hunting people in your life...I’ve put a link to the products in the photos.
The Half Moon 🌓 Herne Hill What a place can bring to memories. I remember of summers of love and lust and longing. Rambling, ridiculous conversations, always music to dance to or comedians to heckle. The smell of anarchy about to happen in a proper pub with unpredictable bar flies roaming their personal drinking maps; lock ins and having one too many but feeling safe because it’s your local and people care. Bar dancing, face painting, playing beer mat games, buying knock off ray-bans and records. That freedom of youth you read about and think ‘I’ll never not not have this’ and then it does sneak off. This year I’m going to find that feeling again...I don’t know how but I will. ⚡️It’s completely transformed at the Half Moon now...with sensibility and children’s play areas and big open dining spaces and it’s still a beauty. But the memories are I what I think of when I walk past...✨ when you comment...tag a fellow half moon lover 💕 or someone who needs a bit of spontaneity in their life right now!
🌵 There’s a good old lot of layers right here in this photo. My dad went to Bristol Art School in the the 60s and wrote his thesis on the architecture of Florence. We found it at the top of @talgarth_mill when we were clearing it out to make way for its renovation (remember BBC Village SOS?) ... we secured funding from the national lottery and created a community social enterprise, working Mill and Bakery (see previous post for their logo I made!) 🦔 I digress... so we found his thesis and laughed because I did my A level thesis on the Renaissance art and architecture of Tuscany and Umbria...we never realised. So the black and white photos are at the back of this shot...taken by my Dad on the 60s collages with some vintage postcards I picked up on my trip there in the summer of 93 (age 17 with @pookieruss, @davidallen2254, @collyhow)... then we have the giraffe from the souk in Marrakech from my sis’s hen weekend and two of my Rebsville prints Shelfie-ing their way to the front. And the obligatory 🌵 from Ikea that seems to pop up in all the instainteriors. Those Michaleangelos though..... back to me 😂..if you fancy one of mine...I’ve put a link in the image 😘 so click it 🙃
As well as making products for the Rebsville Shop and Bespoke Artwork, I am also a commercial illustrator. I work with lots of different clients on branding and marketing projects. One of my favourite jobs has to be helping new small businesses with their branding and logo design. These are a few of my favourites…all still thriving I’m pleased to say! How to commission a logo for your new business: We would have an initial conversation usually over the phone or in person about your business and any ideas you have or elements you want to include in your logo. I come up with 2 logo concepts and email over to you. You choose your favourite and any additions or amends you might want to make. I make the revisions. You sign off the final logo. I then email all files over to you in all the formats (Digital and Print) I can also offer help setting up a simple website and tips for social media and SEO for your new business. Costs for a logo within these parameters is £150. Email me hello@Rebsville.com if I can help! Rebecca x
🗺 who doesn’t love a map?! Visualising information to help people understand the world around them. A tiny dot can be a whole city. A line, a mountain range. A number - the tallest building in the world. Adding illustrations to create something beautiful...retaining enough accuracy to make it a functional design. Mapping is an art. Many more maps to come this year as I grow my collections for Rebsville 📐🖊📚 This is my map of the Waterways and Wildlife of London commissioned last year for the book ‘Londonist Mapped’ which is filled with loads of illustrations of London.
